Organic Acne Treatment
By dpt
Nowadays,
organic seems to be all over the place: organic food, organic
lifestyle, organic materials, etc. Organic acne treatments are
common. In fact, they are so common that even commercialized beauty
products that are available in the market claim to be made of purely
organic ingredients. For most people, consulting with a doctor about
the most effective organic treatment is the safest way to be in the
organic bandwagon. It is true that we must consult a doctor before we
even try out the products available in the market. However, listed
below are the most common organic products (most of them in the form
of essential oils) found in most skin care products, especially for
acne treatment. It is important to get to know some of these
essential oils so that the next time you buy products for acne
treatment (or even when you decided to make your own home remedies);
you will have an idea as to how these organic products work in
treating acne.
- Jojoba oil – As an all-natural and organic moisturizer, jojoba oil is one of the most organic among acne treatments. It fights excess oil production of the skin, thereby decreasing the chances of developing acne. Clogged pores are cleared by using jojoba oil and this leads to the restoration of the skin’s natural water balance. It is hypoallergenic, so it is essentially harmless to the skin.
- Chamomile – We all know that acne and pimple breakouts are temptations for us to prick them. They can make you feel irritated (because essentially, the bacteria is causing the irritations) and make you want to scratch and prick them. Chamomile contains essential oils that soothe irritated skin and underlying tissues. It also contains flavonoids that help in healing acne-infected areas. Chamomile is a common ingredient in face powders and other facial products. It is important to note that if you will use chamomile in treating your acne problems, it is best to opt for the one with the highest concentration.
- Cedar wood – This essential oil is most effective in dealing with irregular oil production of the skin. It also contains anti-fungal ingredients which are very helpful in acne treatment, since most acne breakouts are caused by bacteria and fungi. It also has antiseptic properties which protect the skin from further invasion of harmful bacteria.
- Apple Cider Vinegar – More commonly known as ACV, Apple Cider Vinegar is an all-natural and organic agent that helps fight acne-causing bacteria. It contains natural acids from apples that help in unclogging the pores. The natural acids dissolve the oil formation in the pores. You can use ACV in acne treatment either by drinking it or by applying it topical. Most people say that topical application not only cures acne, it also helps improve the skin’s complexion.
- Lavender – This is one of most commonly used herbs/essential oils today. Not only does it smell good, it is also highly effective in treating acne. This is why most skin care products use lavender in their ingredients, because lavender is highly anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antifungal.
- Rosewood – This sweet-smelling essential oil not only helps you relax, it is also an effective acne cure. It is responsible for skin rejuvenation, especially skin that is affected by acne or pimples. You can do this by dabbing rosewood essential oil on the affected area. Using rosewood will help you maintain healthy and young-looking skin.
